🇨🇷 Hola from Puntarenas Costa Rica. Eight of us from the ship spent the day with very affable and knowledgeable local guide Jeancarlo and driver Carlos of GioTours ($78 via Viator). We stopped to sample local fruits and proceeded to the Tarcoles River for a boat tour of its American Crocodiles and birds, which was very enjoyable. An included lunch stop for authentic local foods was at the mega tourist facility El Jardin but the food was actually delicious. A final stop was to a local grocery to buy local coffee. A great day but we only scratched the surface of what Costa Rica has to offer, and a disappointment that the monkey sanctuary was closed to the public. Other tours went to more interesting places but involved much more driving than we cared to do.
