🇵🇦 We experienced a fascinating traverse of the Panama Canal, great to do after hearing about it our whole lives. A bunch of us “pickled on the Panama” in the AM, putting up with the heat. An expert broadcast info on the canal across the ship all day. In between the locks are large lakes surrounded by pretty jungle. On the Pacific side Panama City has an impressive skyline. There are now three bridges over the canal, and a new parallel channel for the biggest ships. The Island Princess is small enough to go through the more interesting original locks, Gatun, Pedro Miguel, and Miraflores. It was a full day of being out and about observing. We exited the canal on the Pacific, the first and last of the four Oceans we’ve traversed on this voyage.
