🇳🇦 We booked via Viator the M.N.G Tours Sandwich Harbour 4x4 excursion ($130US each). After going through Namibian immigration on the ship we met our driver, Lance, ashore. Shipmates Marianne, Diane and Lori joined us in the Toyota 4x4 six seater. Native Namibian Lance was well versed in the local flora, fauna and mineralogy. After a stop at the main city lagoon to view pink flamingos we drove up the coast along the beach next to sand dunes, that gradually increased in size. We passed a pink lake fed by pink mineral sands. Near a lagoon M.N.G. set out a delicious ample lunch buffet of native foods for the caravan of 5 cars at the beach.

As the tide was coming in our return had to be inland in the “high dunes.” And HIGH they were, sometimes with near vertical drops. We felt like the car was sledding down them. It was a true E-ticket drive that thrilled Steve, while all screamed "woah!" periodically. Back in the lower dune area we were excited to see an Oryx, Namibia’s national animal. Some went sand sledding but we didn't fancy the walk back up. The return back to the ship was uneventful; a very nice excursion and one of Steve’s favorites.
