🇨🇻 Cape Verde or Cabo Verde is an island country and archipelagic state of West Africa, with Portuguese the official language. The ship docked in Mindelo, the capital. We had booked a guided e-bike tour of the island months back with Zoom Zoom Mindelo, but were informed a few days before that they only had two new e-bikes and no guide. The bikes were OK and new but seemed cheaply made, though Є25 for the day was inexpensive. We got lost leaving town, riding on cobblestone or busy main streets, passing numerous feral dogs, relieved that they didn’t chase our bikes. The road out of town was a steep uphill and Steve’s power boost quit near the summit. So we turned around and ended up just returning the bikes and walking around the town which held some interest. After returning to the ship having walked several km's we just enjoyed the pano view of the city from our balcony.
