🇦🇺 Melbourne is a multi cultural metropolis of 5 million situated at the head of Port Phillip Bay off the Bass Strait of the Southern Ocean. A pedestrian bridge contains plaques showing where immigrants came from, including the first peoples from 20,000 years ago. We along with 3 other shipmates participated in a 4-hour 15 km e-bike tour with Blue Tongue Bikes ($79 USD each), and our excellent guide, Fin, regaled the significance of all the attractions we passed. Melbourne has an impressive system of bike paths and lanes that we took along the Yarra River, through the extensive sports stadium precinct, past museums, monuments, Chinatown, and the bohemian Fitzroy district where we stopped at eclectic Faraday's Cage for lunch. Weather was wonderful until a rain shower moved through later in the afternoon. Afterwards we took the free "35 tourist tram" around the CBD, and the "109" to the port.
