🇬🇮 Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory and city situated at the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula adjacent to Spain. It is near the exit of the Mediterranean Sea into the Atlantic Ocean, called the Strait of Gibraltar, and is dominated by the famous mountain called the Rock of Gibraltar. Rich arranged for six of us (+Claire & Bill and Bob & Steve) to do the “Rock to the Top E-bike Tour” with E-bike Gibraltar (€100 via Viator). Joined by 3 others from the ship and two guides we rode around the rock, stopping at interesting places like Europa Point with a clear vantage of Africa & Europe. We rode through several tunnels and across an airport runway en route. Then UP the rock we went. The excellent e-bikes helped a lot but it still took lots of huffing and puffing. We enjoyed the scenic vistas, then visited colorful St Michael's Cave, lit up with atmospheric music playing. Outside we interacted with a bunch of Barbary macaque monkeys. Next we stopped at an extensive impressive WW2 "The Tunnels" exhibit. Then it was DOWN the hill on the other side and through the old city to the shop. Afterwards we wandered the old city with Claire & Bill and had an excellent al fresco meal at Fern's Curry Indo-Chinese. We probably walked 5 km to and from the ship and around town.
